2024 SFFI National Conference

The SFFI 2024 National Conference aims to update Filipino Foresters on current developments and issues related to forestry and allied fields. It will be held on October 23-27, 2024 at The Atrium, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City with a theme ‘Seizing the Moment: Towards achieving Wood Self-Sufficiency and Transforming Filipino Foresters as World Leaders’. Taking off from the 2023 National Conference, this year’s Conference will address how the country can achieve sufficient wood supply locally as more than 70% to 80% of the demand for wood are being imported from neighboring countries. It should also be noted that in ASEAN Region, the Philippines is the only importer of wood/timber while the other countries are all exporters. In addition, part of the Conference will address transforming the Filipino Foresters as national and international leaders by providing them the right environment and policies to revitalize the forestry profession.
